Harmony sits at the crossroads of US-21 and NC Highway 901 in the far northeastern corner of Iredell County, at roughly 968 feet of elevation on the eastern edge of North Carolina's High Country. Most of the town lies in Turnersburg Township, with its northern tip reaching into Eagle Mills Township. Statesville, the county seat, is 15 miles south on US-21; NC-901 runs 5 miles northwest to an I-77 interchange, giving Harmony builds quick highway access despite the rural setting. Acre-plus residential lots are the norm here, with room for full estate-scale builds - integrated spas, outdoor kitchens, and pavilions - that tighter in-town lots elsewhere in our service area can't accommodate.

The town's name comes from the Harmony Hill Camp Meeting, an annual Methodist-and-Baptist revival first held in 1846 - 81 years before Harmony incorporated as a town in 1927. That two-week camp meeting still convenes every October on the grounds of present-day Harmony Elementary School, a rare case of a North Carolina town's founding event still running on its original site nearly two centuries later. Harmony is also home to the annual Wild Goose Festival, a faith-based gathering that draws visitors from well outside Iredell County each summer.

Three homes in or near Harmony carry National Register of Historic Places listings: the Gaither House, the Holland-Summers House, and the Morrison-Campbell House. All three are individually-listed private residences rather than a designated historic district, so - unlike some historic-overlay neighborhoods elsewhere - they don't add a design-review layer to a Harmony pool permit; standard Iredell County review still applies.

Iredell County permitting moves in 4-6 weeks, and the piedmont clay soil across northern Iredell excavates predictably.
