The brief
A downtown Mooresville homeowner wanted a polished evening pool on a modest lot - a clean geometric concrete build with a raised spa, a stone scupper wall, and fire bowls that turn the water into a scene after dark.
The build
We laid out a tight geometric concrete shell that fits the lot's proportions, with a raised spa wrapped in marble-look coping at the near corner. Behind it, a dry-stacked stone veneer wall carries three copper scuppers that sheet water into the pool - sound, motion, and a focal point from the kitchen window.
Interior: midnight aggregate plaster that reads deep teal by day and near-black under the lights at night. Decking: large-format marble-look pavers set on a compacted base, cool underfoot through a Carolina summer. Pentair IntelliCenter runs pool, spa, scuppers, and lighting from one app.
Copper fire bowls at each end of the wall, low-voltage path lights through the layered plantings, and a simple ipe bench complete the space - proof that a downtown lot doesn't need acreage to feel like a destination.
