The brief
A Mooresville family wanted a private backyard retreat that felt like a resort at night - freeform pool, raised spa, arcing deck jets, and warm travertine lit for evenings on Lake Norman.
The build
We engineered a freeform shell that curves with the yard's natural grade, wrapped by a broad travertine deck in a French pattern. A round raised spa anchors the near end, clad in dry-stacked stone with a spillway that keeps the water moving day and night.
Interior: PebbleSheen in Midnight Blue. Decking: silver travertine in a French pattern. Equipment is fully recessed behind a louvered cedar screen with rear access. Pentair IntelliCenter manages everything - pool, spa, lighting, fire bowls, and water features - from a single tablet interface.
Arcing deck jets, a stacked-stone grotto waterfall, and layered landscape lighting turn the whole yard into an evening scene. String lights over the covered dining pergola tie the house and pool together into a single outdoor room.
