Freeform concrete with beach entry
The brief
A waterfront Sherrills Ford lot called for a pool that read as an extension of Lake Norman, not as a separate built object. Naturalistic. Quiet. Irregular.
The build
We designed a freeform shell with a true zero-entry beach on the lake-facing side, transitioning gradually to six feet at the deep end. Embedded Pennsylvania field boulders interrupt the coping at three points.
A cascading three-tier waterfall feeds the shallow end from a planted boulder grouping. Interior is StoneScapes in Tropical Blue - dark enough to read like the lake, light enough to see swimmers in the deep end.
Saltwater system with a Hayward AquaRite. Decking is irregular flagstone with no two pieces alike - placed by hand over three days.
